Lalalanguage was created to make premium online language instruction accessible for kids ages 4-14. With our online French classes, we aspire to bridge the gap between education and entertainment.
So, in order to fulfill our mission, all Lalalanguage teachers are trained for various child personality archetypes. Also, they learn how to respond to grammatical errors in a constructive way. This technique of positive correction is at the heart of the Lalalanguage ideology.
Firstly, our interactive French lessons are customized using digital characters, games and virtual backgrounds. This helps to make the online classes as engaging as possible for all kids.
Secondly, to keep class fun, every lesson is full of laughter and songs! Finally, all Lalalanguage teachers are trained specifically for online classes, and must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree.
Lalalanguage combines playful learning and modern linguistics to deliver premium French classes via an interactive, online platform.
We believe that for children to learn a language, they must, above all, be excited about learning. Also, the kids must understand what they are learning. Lastly, they must be able to use the language in their daily lives.
Our classes are designed to replicate how young children acquire a native language, through communication. As a result, all Lalalanguage lessons are organized to improve vocabulary retention.
Lalalanguage was founded in July of 2020 in the sunny city of Montpellier, France.
After finishing a second year of teaching in French public schools, Riley Torbott decided to team up with fellow language lover, Lenny Bertoni, to create an online French program. They dreamed of making professional, online French lessons accessible for kids in elementary and middle school.
Lenny, a French business student with a passion for computers and technology, had already considered the idea of an online French school.
With a fascination for linguistics and music, Riley thought that a language program that integrated all three would be perfect for young kids. Lenny mentioned that he was taking online classes to improve his English, and that he thought he could help with creating online lessons.
The both of them agreed that online lessons have great potential for the future of education. They also wanted to make French lessons available to younger children, as this is when kids are most apt to learn languages.
Thus, Lalalanguage was born.

After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish & French from the University of Georgia, Riley knew he was destined to live and teach abroad.
Upon graduating, he spent two years in the south of France, where he worked alongside elementary and secondary school teachers. In order to supplement his income, he began teaching English to children online…
Lenny Bertoni
Lalalanguage Founder
Born in France but raised in Tahiti, Lenny has been traveling since he was a toddler. This allowed him to visit different countries and to develop a love for culture.
Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in International Business and Management at ESG from Studialis Galileo Global Education in Montpellier, his travels as a child greatly influenced his career choice.
